1. Introduction

This Terms and Conditions Statement (hereinafter, “the Terms”) governs the access, use, and provision of medical, surgical, diagnostic, therapeutic, and consultation services offered by Clínica de Especialidades Médicas Medizama, S.A.P.I. de C.V. (hereinafter, “Medizama”), both at its physical facilities and through its website and digital platforms.

By scheduling an appointment, visiting our facilities, using the website, or receiving any of our services, the patient (hereinafter, “the User” or “the Patient”) fully accepts these Terms and agrees to comply with them.

2. Purpose

Medizama provides comprehensive healthcare services in various medical specialties, delivered by accredited professionals in compliance with current Mexican health regulations. Additionally, Medizama makes general health information available to the public on its website, which is strictly for guidance purposes and does not constitute a medical diagnosis or treatment.

3. Services Offered

  1. Medical consultations across various specialties.
  2. Diagnostic and therapeutic procedures within installed capabilities.
  3. Telemedicine services, where the care model allows.
  4. Basic emergency care, with the possibility of referral to higher-complexity hospitals.
  5. Preventive and educational health guidance.

Services are always subject to the availability of staff, facilities, and equipment.

4. Patient Rights and Obligations

Patient Rights:

  • To receive dignified, respectful, and confidential care.
  • To be clearly and promptly informed about their diagnosis, treatment, prognosis, and available alternatives.
  • To receive a prior estimate of costs before any procedure, when applicable.
  • To access their medical record in accordance with applicable regulations.

Patient Obligations:

  • To provide truthful and complete information regarding their health status, medical history, and prior treatments.
  • To follow prescribed medical and care instructions.
  • To sign informed consent prior to any medical or surgical procedure.
  • To pay fees and costs for services received under the terms established by the clinic.

5. Website Terms of Use

  • The content published on the website is for informational purposes only and does not replace in-person medical evaluation.
  • Users agree not to use the site for unlawful, fraudulent, or security-compromising purposes.
  • Online appointment scheduling does not guarantee confirmation until validated by the clinic’s administrative staff.

6. Payments and Cancellations

  • The cost of consultations and procedures will be communicated in advance and must be paid in cash, by bank card, or through other authorized methods.
  • Any additional studies, tests, or procedures must be paid according to the issued quotation.
  • Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance; otherwise, Medizama may apply compensatory charges.

7. Limitation of Liability

  • Medizama is committed to providing high-quality medical services in accordance with established protocols; however, it does not guarantee specific results, as these depend on multiple factors beyond the clinic’s control.
  • The clinic shall not be liable for complications resulting from lack of medical follow-up by the patient, failure to comply with instructions, or self-medication.
  • In life-threatening emergencies, immediate care will be provided to the extent possible, and if necessary, referral will be made to a hospital with greater resolution capacity.

8. Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • Patients’ personal and medical data will be handled with strict confidentiality and security, in compliance with the Federal Law on the Protection of Personal Data Held by Private Parties and other applicable regulations.
  • The processing of data is described in detail in the Comprehensive Privacy Notice, available at our facilities and on our website.
  • Patients may exercise their ARCO rights (Access, Rectification, Cancellation, and Opposition) at any time.

9. Amendments to the Terms

Medizama may modify, update, or supplement these Terms and Conditions at any time. The current version will always be available on the website and at the clinic’s reception.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Mexican States. Any dispute arising from their interpretation or compliance will be resolved before the competent courts of Quintana Roo, Mexico.
